Indiana Jones and Peru

I saw the newest movie few days ago, excited to know that this time they were going to talk about my country.
It may be a fiction movie, but I honestly think that every director, writer or whoever is in charge of the plot, should do their homework and learn more about the culture, the people, the music, and most of all the geography of the country they will talk about in their movies.
I mean we are talking about “professionals” who will get paid millions for making good movies for the audience. And I think that audience and fans deserve better.
Here a few of the unbelievable mistakes from the last Indiana Jones movie:
-The Nazca Lines are located in Nazca- Peru a west coast city, and not in Cuzco a south-east city, as they say in the movie.
-The music that is played while they landed in Peru, at an airport that doesn’t exist, is a Mexican “ranchera” music.
-In the movie Indiana mention that he learned Quechua (a native Peruvian language spoken by the Incas) from Pancho Villa, a Mexican revolution hero.
-The pyramid of Chichen Itza is located in Mexico and not in the Peruvian jungle.
Anyway I can go on with the list, but I dont want to ruin the “magic” of the Indy’s movies.
In my opinion, I wont recommend the movie because I think they don’t respect the audience enough to get a 3rd grade History book or to “google” it and study more about my beautiful country and my culture.

Jocker Action Figures Fever

New Joker action figures, based on the likeness of the late Heath Ledger, have sold out within minutes of them going on sale.
The US$9.99 toy became an instant collector’s item with fans. Some fans are believed to be buying up stock, convinced the figure is a collector’s item; others are selling them on auction site eBay for up to $55 each.
Ledger will be seen as the Joker alongside Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight, which hits movie theaters worldwide in July.
Kate Hudson, People’s ‘most beautiful’ cover girl

Actress Kate Hudson has been named top of People magazine’s annual “100 Most Beautiful People list,” the celebrity magazine announced on its website Wednesday.
The 29-year-old single mother and Oscar-nominated star of “Almost Famous” told People that growing up she had never paid much attention to her appearance.
“I was a tomboy. I had three brothers. I was the girl with the dress on that always came back in the house filthy with scrapes and bruises,” Hudson said.
Even now, Hudson says she doesn’t spend much time on pampering herself.
“I don’t even remember the last time I got a manicure,” said Hudson, who has a four-year-old son, Ryder, with her ex-husband, Black Crowes front-man Chris Robinson.
“I even got to the point where I started waxing my own legs because I don’t have the time. I’d rather be home with Ryder sitting there waxing my legs. I haven’t gotten a facial in a million years. I don’t do those kinds of things.”
Hudson is the daughter of Goldie Hawn, an Oscar-winning comedienne and Hollywood starlet of the 1970s and 1980s.
Other stars on the “Most Beautiful” list include Salma Hayek, Eva Longoria, Tony Parker and Julianne Moore.
The full list is published in People’s next edition which hits US news stands on Friday.
